Milton Nomads Foodbank 2026

working together with the Weston-super-Mare foodbank and the Trussell Trust

Milton Nomads are proud to announce that we have been made an approved collection point

 for the Weston-super-Mare foodbank.

All we ask for is away teams coming to Baytree to play

bring one item suitable for foodbank use

and donate it to the collection point.

Rising Demand

Reports, including from The Trussell Trust, reveal record-high demand, with some food banks providing more parcels than ever before. Families, working individuals, and even those on government benefits are increasingly reliant on this support to make ends meet.

Challenges Faced

UK food banks face significant challenges, including:

  • Reduced Donations: Rising living costs mean fewer people can afford to give, leading to shortages in food supplies.
  • Volunteer Shortages: Many food banks struggle to recruit and retain enough volunteers to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Sustainability: Rising energy prices and operational costs make running food banks more expensive.

Community Impact

Despite the challenges, food banks continue to have a profound impact. Beyond providing food, many also offer advice on budgeting, benefits, and housing, helping individuals get back on their feet. Local communities and businesses play a key role in supporting these efforts through donations and partnerships.

Food banks rely on public generosity to continue their work. Whether by donating food, money, or time, everyone can play a part in supporting their local food bank.

For those in need, food banks are a source of hope, reminding us all of the power of community and compassion.

With this information in mind, we need to take this forward with determination and seriousness, so will look forward to working with you hopefully to achieve your ambition.

Meet Lincoln

Lincoln is 11 years old and a keen sportsman, he plays football for Milton Nomads and rugby for Hornets.

He also shares a passion for charity work. Over the last 3 years his attention has gravitated towards the Salvation Army and the Local Food Bank, he presented a compelling case for Milton Nomads to support this local charity which is close to his heart - and has assumed the role of ambassador. He hopes the footballing community will join him with donations to the Weston Food Bank.
